LEROY "ROY" MANNING &
GRACE M. MORGAN CARPENTER

Leroy "Roy" Carpenter was born in 1903 at New Smyrna Beach and moved to Titusville with his parents in 1915. He married Titusville native Grace Morgan in 1925 and they raised five children, Roy, Jr., Merle Ann (Nidy), Jean (Sanders), Walter and Richard.

Roy was manager and later part owner of Scobie Supply Co. in Titusville for thirty years. He was active in civic work for the North Brevard area, a member of the Jaycees, served eight years on the Titusville City Council, and a president of the Titusville Chamber of Commerce. He served as school trustee for two 2-year terms. Roy was well respected for his activity in regard to the growth of North Brevard. He was a Brevard County Commissioner from 1947 to 1954, served as Vice-Chairman much of the time, and was a member of the Canaveral Port Authority Commission. Grace was a devoted wife and mother and active in many school activities with their children. Grace loved flowers and was a member of the Titusville Garden Club.
