2ND ANNUAL DIGISCOPING CHALLENGE

2nd Annual Digiscoping Challenge sponsored by Eagle Optics and Swarovski Optik.

Eagle Optics was very pleased to see everyone who could make it to the 11th Annual Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival. No doubt you were delighted with the terrific array of opportunities provided for all of us by the Brevard County Nature Alliance. You now have the chance to extend your enjoyment of the festival by viewing and voting on the results of the 2nd Annual Digiscoping Challenge sponsored by Eagle Optics and Swarovski Optik.

Tri-Colored Heron Photographs submitted were taken at the same locations you visited while attending field trips and workshops. We invite you to let us know how well you think the digiscopers captured the beauty and personality of the numerous resident and migratory species we saw. Between now and May 1st, you can vote for your favorite images at http://contests.eagleoptics.com. The winning image will be honored on the cover of the 2009 festival program and utilized in promoting the twelfth season of this premier birding event.

We hope you will take part in the voting and extend your Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival experience. Visit the site now to vote. Then consider joining us next year with your own digiscoped images---a winning hobby for all.

WELCOME to the 11th Annual Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival. We take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation to the businesses, organizations, schools, individuals and families who participate in some aspect of the Festival each year and have helped to establish the essence and quality of this premier event. By affirming our environmental stewardship for the globally significant natural areas of Florida's Space Coast, we encourage nature tourists as well as local citizens to participate in building a legacy of conserving both natural and cultural resources.

Thanks to:

  • the Sponsors who continue to support the Festival by contributing funding and in-kind services that defray expenses associated with producing this annual extravaganza.
  • the Exhibitors who have helped to shape the Festival by sharing ideas and advising event developers in implementing meaningful improvements.
  • the expert Speakers and Field Trip Leaders who make it possible for birders of all levels to experience and appreciate the exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities of the Space Coast.
  • the many Volunteers (those who live in this community and those from other areas) who assist in making our guests - the attendees - feel welcome and help them to enjoy a memorable experience.
  • the Attendees (both visitors and residents) who each contribute to the growth and recognition of the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival as one of the nation's most prestigious birding and wildlife venues.

The Festival is produced by the Brevard Nature Alliance, a small non-profit 501 (c) (3), tax-exempt organization. The Festival has grown in recognition and attendance (from about 200 participants in 1997 to more than 3,000 participants in 2007) and so have the costs of providing excellent quality to every participant.

We hope you enjoy the 2008 Festival, broaden your horizons, learn or see something different, meet new friends and plan to return many times during the year to enjoy the treasured places of Florida's Space Coast.
