CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE ASSESSES DAMAGE AND SAFETY CONCERNS FROM HURRICANE
Canaveral National Seashore is assessing damage to infrastructure caused by hurricane Irma. Staff and visitor safety are of utmost importance to the management of the National Park Service unit located in Titusville-Playalinda district and New Smyrna Beach-Apollo district. The seashore closed on Wednesday, September 7 in preparation for the storm. The Incident Management Team has entered the park and is assessing damage to boardwalks and buildings at this time. We ask for your patience as we await the return of electric power and complete cleanup operations, making it safe for the public to return.
We will update our website and Facebook page as more information becomes available.
