Better Business Council
The Better Business Council is a consumer resource organization that is a committee of the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce. The Better Business Council, "BBC" strives to build public confidence in local businesses by promoting honest and ethical business practices.The Better Business Council Board of Director's meets the first Thursday of the month at 8:30 am at the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce in the boardroom.
Point of information relevant to the BBC:
- A business/ associate MUST be a member of the Titusville Chamber before they can become a member of the BBC.
- BBC members pay additional dues of $110.00, which goes to the BBC.
- BBC members get additional membership perks.
- The BBC takes complaints against North Brevard Businesses. There is a $10.00 administration fee to file a complaint. There are certain policies and procedures that must be met before a complaint is filed.
Your Better Business Council
The Better Business Council is a non-profit organization that is a committee of the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce. The Council strives to build public confidence in local businesses by promoting honest and ethical business practices.The Better Business Council handles over 150 phone calls each month from concerned customers checking on the business reputations of our local companies. The BBC will provide customers/ callers information about any local businesses such as, if a company has had any complaints or recommendation letters on file. Business questions regarding companies not in the North Brevard Area are also answered through the help of "The Consumer Action Handbook," and "Gift Givers Guide" of charitable giving.
The BBC also take consumers complaints in the North Brevard Area. There is a $10.00 processing fee. A consumer must have tried to come to a resolution with the head manger or owner of the company they are filing a complaint about and must desire tangible resolution. The Better Business Council has no legal authority and cannot force a business to make an adjustment or provide further services, but can help mediate for consumer satisfaction.
The Better Business Council members are local businesses who are committed to the highest standards of business practices and who agree to abide by a Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics are as follows: To adhere to truth and integrity in advertising, To advertise, so as not to mislead customers, To display and honor our policies on refunds, exchanges, deposits and layaways, To provide service before, during and after the sale, To furnish and honor warranties and guarantees promptly and courteously, To respond promptly to any written or oral complaint by a consumer or the Better Business Council, To operate in accordance with the best and accepted practices within the industry or community, To comply with all applicable laws and governmental rules and regulations, To recognize and respect the rights and privileges of competitors. To strive for continued improvement of our community's image and reputation.
