Park visitors who are in wheelchairs can enjoy Canaveral National Seashore along with their family and friends. Visitors are invited to use the park's beach wheelchair to gain access to the beach. Each district of the park has a beach wheelchair available. The chair must be used with assistance, but it allows the visitor with disabilities to go through the sand to the water's edge. In the North District, near New Smyrna Beach the visitor may borrow the chair by inquiring at the Information Center. In the South District, near Titusville ask about the beach wheelchair at the Entrance Station.ACCESS TO THE BEACH
There is access to the beach via boardwalks located at each district of the Seashore. In the North District (Apollo Beach) near New Smyrna Beach Parking Areas #1A and #5, have accessible boardwalks. In the South District (Playalinda Beach) near Titusville, the Eddy Creek Parking Area and Parking Area #8 have accessible boardwalks. An easy to use beach wheelchair is available free to use. It can bring delight to those otherwise unable to access the ocean! Ask at the admission booth.SEMINOLE REST
Seminole Rest, an ancient mound, is located in Oak Hill, Florida. From US 1, turn east on Halifax Ave. to River Road. Seminole Rest is .2 of a mile north on River Road. The site has accessible parking, restrooms and a 1/2 mile trail. There is also a wheelchair available for people who are not able to walk the 1/2 mile distance. Ask the volunteer on duty for assistance.TURTLE MOUND TRAIL
Turtle Mound, located in the North District, has an accessible entrance trail that leads to the boardwalk that leads to the top of the mound. The entrance trail is accessible and the Turtle Mound boardwalk is accessible with assistance. The trail is steep in some places but there are no steps. Some people in electric wheelchairs have navigated this trail.INFORMATION CENTER AND RESTROOMS
The Information Center located at 7611 S. Atlantic Avenue, New Smyrna Beach in the North District and the restrooms throughout the park including those at the beach are accessible for all park visitors.ELDORA STATE HOUSE
The Eldora State House is accessible and includes an accessible restroom. The trail to the house is packed sand but during dry weather, a visitor in a wheelchair may need assistance.
