CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE TO CLOSE FOR HURRICANE IRENE
Canaveral National Seashore will be closed Friday, August 26th, in the interest of public safety, in anticipation of Hurricane Irene' potential impact to Florida's east coastline. The park will remain closed until after the storm has passed, and park staff have completed a damage assessment. The superintendent expects the Seashore to re-open on Saturday, August 27th, after our Incident Command Team confirms that it is safe to do so.
