CANAVERAL NATIONAL SEASHORE TO CLOSE FOR ENDEAVOUR SHUTTLE LAUNCH
In compliance with NASA directives Canaveral National Seashore at Playalinda Beach in Brevard County will close at 6:00 pm on July 7, 2009, in preparation for the July 11th Endeavour Shuttle Launch STS-127.In addition, NASA camera installation security measures require that parking lot number 5 at Apollo Beach (located in Volusia County) be closed to vehicles and boats beginning on July 6, 2009. While this section is closed, visitors will not be permitted beyond parking area #4.
Both of these closures will remain in effect until the day after a successful launch. All dates and times are tentative, and are subject to revision or extension by NASA. Please call (321) 867-4077 for recorded park status updates.
