October 11, 2005ENTRANCE FEE CHANGES
Effective January 1, 2006, the National Park Service at Canaveral National Seashore will begin charging a $3.00 per person entrance fee. This eliminates the $5.00 per vehicle fee.All other passport fees remain the same at this time. This includes:
- 80% of the fees collected are retained by the park for specific projects such as repairing, maintaining and enhancing facilities used by visitors (restrooms, visitor centers); developing, installing, repairing interpretive exhibits; providing visitor services and signs; providing lifeguard services; restoring habitat related to visitor oriented activities such as wildlife observation or photography; providing visitor reservation services.
- The remaining 20% of funds goes to an agency wide fund that is used for projects in non fee collection parks or for agency wide projects such as funding for Youth Corp Programs.
Canaveral National Seashore Annual Park Pass - currently $35.00.
Provides admittance to Canaveral National Seashore. Admits the pass signee and any accompanying passengers in a private *vehicle.Golden Age - one time fee of $10.00
For citizens or permanent residents of the United States who are age 62 or older. A Golden Age Passport must be obtained in person at a federal area (National Park, Historic Site, Wildlife Refuge, etc.) where an entrance fee is charged. There is a one-time $10 processing charge to obtain the Golden Age Passport. It is available only to citizens or permanent residents of the United States who are 62 years of age or older. You must show proof of age, such as a state driver's license, birth certificate, or similar document. The Golden Age pass admits the pass signee, and any accompanying passengers in a private *vehicle if a park has a per vehicle entrance fee. Where a per person entrance fee is charged, the Golden Age admits the pass signee, spouse, children and parents.Golden Access - No fee
The Golden Access Passport admits the signee and any accompanying passengers in a private * vehicle if a park has a per vehicle entrance fee. Where a per person entrance fee is charged, the Golden Access admits the pass signee, spouse, children and parents. A Golden Access Passport must be obtained in person at a federal area where an entrance fee is charged. It is available only to citizens or permanent residents of the United States who are medically determined to be blind or permanently disabled. You may obtain a Golden Access Passport by showing proof of medically determined permanent disability, or eligibility for receiving benefits under federal law.National Parks Pass - annual fee of $50.00
Provides admission into any National Park requiring an entry fee and is valid for one full year from first use in a National Park. Will admit you and any accompanying passengers in your vehicle, where a per vehicle fee is required. Will admit spouse, parents, and children at those Parks where a per visitor fee is required.Golden Eagle
For an additional $15, a Golden Eagle hologram may be purchased and affixed to a National Parks Pass to cover entrance fees at not only national parks, but also at sites managed by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U. S. Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management. The Golden Eagle holograms are available at National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, and Bureau of Land Management fee stations. The Golden Eagle admits the pass signee and any accompanying passengers in a private* vehicle if a park has a per vehicle entrance fee. Where a per person entrance fee is charged, the Golden Eagle admits the pass signee, spouse, children and parents.*A private vehicle is defined as a noncommercial vehicle that is being used for private recreational purposes. This includes passenger automobiles, vans, campers, and company-owned vehicles that are leased or rented for private recreation purposes.
