PLAYALINDA BEACH REMAINS CLOSED INDEFINITELY
Due to the uncertainty of the current National situation, the Playalinda section of Canaveral National Seashore remains closed. However, the Apollo Beach section, just south of New Smyrna Beach remains open. Given the undetermined length of Playalinda's closure, the Park is reviewing several options concerning the appropriate treatment of "Annual Pass Holders". Among the factors that will be considered when the beach is reopened will be the potential for prorating additional "pass" time based upon:
- The length of the closure.
- The general number of visitors who usually visit Playalinda, who now use their Seashore pass to visit Apollo beach.
- The normal closure rates for shuttle, weather etc.
- A consideration for the general impacts of the current National situation.
Canaveral National Seashore thanks the public for it's continued support and understanding during this National situation.
