4-Holer Outhouse
This is a photograph of the 4-Holer Outhouse at it's location in a wooded area before it was dissembled August 17th, 2008. It was one of two outhouses that serviced parishioners of the City Point Community Church, which was built in 1887. The church is presently the home the Brevard County Environmental Field Station, 3783 North Indian River Drive in Cocoa, Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Daunheimer, owners of the outhouse and property on which it was located, donated the 4-holer outhouse to the North Brevard Heritage Foundation for historic preservation. The "privy" will be restored by volunteers under supervision of historic restoration specialist, Shawn Bechwith, project manager with The Durable Restoration Co.
The Foundation is soliciting donations to help purchase building materials to restore this historic structure. Make checks out to the North Brevard Heritage Foundation, [a 501(c)3 non-proft organization]. Please note that it is to restore the 4-Holer Outhouse, and send to P.O. Box 653, Titusville, FL 32781. All donations are tax deductible. Once restored, the Foundation will turn ownership over to the County where it will be used as an educational tool at the EPA Office.
