Other activities include a local blacksmith, prescribed fire demonstrations and the chance to learn about the history of the St Sebastian River Preserve State Park. The local Herpetological society will also have a display where you will have the chance to meet your reptilian neighbors up close and personal The festival provides a great opportunity for you to find out just how much your local State Park has to offer.
We will have several Food and Craft vendors on hand, as well as exhibits from several local agencies, including an opportunity to meet the famous Goby! If you're wondering what exactly a Goby is, stop by the Touch Tank and meet this special little fish. Artists, crafters, and exhibitors of nature related items are encouraged to exhibit during this fun event.
The No Frills Poker Ride will start at 9:00 near the Visitor Center. As the name suggests, there will not be lunch and door prizes provided as there are during the Annual Horseback Poker Ride & Campout held every November. As a result, hands will only be $5 each. Afterwards, riders are welcome to attend the Goby Fest event, check out the vendors and exhibitors.
The Coastal Preserves Alliance is a non-profit organization whose goal is to protect and restore natural areas that provide important habitat for endangered species and serve as a watershed for the Indian River Lagoon.
The park and CPA goal is to provide access to the event for people of all abilities. If you have any special needs, please contact park staff at the number below 48 hours before the event.
