"We are launching a new economic development consortium to bring together investors and innovators to identify and attract new job creation and growth in our community", Matt Barringer, National Chairman of the Economic Development Committee of the Minority Chamber of Commerce 2015-2016.

Miami, Florida. August 5, 2015. The Minority Chamber of Commerce has announced that Mr. Matthew "Matt" Barringer, a community leader and public official at the City of Titusville in Florida, will assume the duties as National Chairman of the Economic Development Committee effective September 1, 2015- August 30, 2016. Matt a Titusville City Councilman, in Brevard County Florida, takes to the Chairman's seat bringing with him 10 years of community experience and his philosophy Rebuild, Restore and Renew.

Matthew "Matt" Barringer is a resident of Titusville Florida, the son of two parents who dedicated their lives to the aerospace industry. Compelled by the tradition of his family he served in the U.S. Army for over six years directly after his graduation from high school. During his service to the United States he was awarded numerous medals including those of national defense, overseas service ribbons, air assault and airborne badges, Italian and Hungarian airborne badges and completed the Army's coveted Ranger qualification training.

"The Chamber is fortunate to have new leadership with Matt and benefits from a long line of top-notch volunteer leaders on our board, "and he is already a standout with a new direction to increase economic development programs in the United States" says Chamber President & CEO, Doug Mayorga. "He will be an extraordinary asset and will play a vital role in assuring that all of our members continue to enjoy the superior service and quality economic programs they have come to expect from the Chamber. I welcome his leadership and support, and I look forward to working with him in the coming months and years."

As a national chairman, Mr. Barringer, plans to emphasize four policy areas critical to promote and enhance the Chamber economic growth: international trade, project investment development, expansion-retention, and bringing financial resources to provide funding for member initiatives.

"It is an honor and a privilege to serve as chairman of the Minority Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee," Matt said. "Over the course of my chairmanship, I plan to focus my energy on advancing the issues that are crucial to our economy, our start up programs, and our competitiveness. I look forward to serving alongside the Chamber team and complementing all of the outstanding work this institution does on behalf of businesses in our nation."

Mr. Barringer fulfills his public service duty by serving as a representative on the Titusville City Council, former member to the Board of Adjustment and Appeals, previous member of Rotary Club, former Board Member of the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce, and guiding alumni of the Collegiate Veterans Society as well service to numerous additional organizations. Matt's commitment to education has led him to complete his Bachelors of Science in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida (UCF, Go Knights) with further pursuits leading him to the teaching profession as well as creating multiple businesses.

He is inspired daily by his wife of ten years, Ms. Heather Martine, and their four children.
