PLAYALINDA BEACH JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAMS
Please join us on these days for the programs listed below. Completing one set of programs that are from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM in July, and picking up a bag of litter will allow you to complete Canaveral National Seashore's Junior Ranger Program. Junior Ranger patch and certificate will be awarded when the assigned activities are completed.

Tuesday, July 18th — 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM — "SCAVENGER HUNT & BEACH CRAFT"
Learn the significance of marine life to our ocean environment and make a craft with a ranger. Walk the beach and explore the seashore. See what treasures left behind and help pick up trash you can find. Meet at Eddy Creek. Bring water, wear sunscreen, and parent or guardian must also stay for the program. (2 hours)

Tuesday, July 25th — 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM — "ARTS & CRAFTS - MANATEE MANIA"
Explore with a ranger and look for manatee at Mosquito Lagoon. Make a manatee craft to take home. Walk the beach and explore the seashore. See what treasures you can find and help pick up trash left behind. Meet at Eddy Creek. Bring water, wear sunscreen, and parent or guardian must also stay for the program. (2 hours)

All activities will meet at Eddy Creek (Eddie Creek is between Parking Areas 7 and 8). Bring water, wear sunscreen, and parent or guardian must also stay for the program.

PLEASE NOTE: all programs are subject to cancellation and/or rescheduling due to staff limitations, weather conditions, or other factors. Some programs require reservations, a minimum age, or a cost-recovery fee. Call 386-428-3384 ext. 0 or 321-403-9334 for program information during operating hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). All programs meet the requirements for the Canaveral National Seashore Junior Ranger program.






JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAMS

Basic Junior Ranger Program. Children are required to attend three park programs, pick up a bag of trash in the park and do a special arts & crafts program on their own showing what they've learned during their time in the park. After completion of all the activities children are awarded a Junior Ranger patch and certificate.

One Day Junior Ranger Program. Children may pick up a Junior Ranger Activity Book at the Playalinda entrance station. Once they have completed the activities and returned the book, the child will receive a Junior Ranger sticker and certificate.

After you have completed the activities in the Junior Ranger Activity Book, you are eligible to become a Junior Ranger. Take your completed book to the Entrance Station at the South District (Playalinda) or the Visitor Center at the North District (Apollo). You will receive a Junior Ranger decal and a Park Ranger or Park Volunteer will sign your book.
