Texas Raiders B-17G
The Valiant Air Command is pleased to announce that its 2015 TICO Warbirds Airshow will feature two military aircraft of unsurpassed historic significance. The North American B-25 "Panchito" will fly during the show and will also be available for tours and pictures on the Warbirds Flightline. "Panchito" is sponsored by the Disabled American Veterans, and we are honored that DAV National Commander and Vietnam veteran Ronald Hope will fly in to the Space Coast Regional Airport on the airplane. In addition, the occasion will be marked by a visit from Lt. Col. Dick Cole, who was Gen Jimmy Doolittle's copilot on the lead B-25 for the audacious carrier-launched April 18 1942 raid on Tokyo.
We will also welcome the Boeing B-17 "Texas Raiders" to our show. No American combat airplane holds the fascination of the legendary Flying Fortress. Introduced 80 years ago, and built in numbers approaching 13,000 (of which an astonishing 5900 were lost in combat operations), it still thrills onlookers who see its graceful silhouette and hear the roar of its four 1200 horsepower Wright Cyclone engines.
Both Panchito and Texas Raiders will offer rides at an additional cost. Informational materials for these two extraordinary Warbirds may be found attached to this message. For advance ticket sales, go to our website at WWW.VACWarbirds.net.
