27 -- Nature Discovery Bus Tour

  • 9:00am -- Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center.
  • Join a knowledgeable Refuge volunteer for a guided 3 hour in the Refuge Shuttle bus.
  • Space is limited. Call 321-861-0669 to make reservations. Fee of $5 per person.

20 -- Cast Netting at Playalinda

  • 10:00am -- Canaveral National Seashore. Eddy Creek Dock.
  • Join a ranger and learn the art of cast netting. See how to catch bait and see what may be caught.

27 -- Shorebird Photo Presentation and Driving Tour

  • 1:00pm -- Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center.
  • View a photo presentation to learn how to identify sandpipers and plovers, collectively called shorebirds.
  • Then ride in the refuge shuttle bus to observe shorebirds in the wild. Call 321-861-0669 for reservations.

27 -- Volunteer Open House

  • 2:00pm - 4:00pm -- Enchanted Forest Nature Sanctuary. Share the Enchantment!
  • Come learn about the Enchanted Forest, volunteer opportunities, and meet the staff and volunteers.
  • Future volunteers who turn in a volunteer enrollment form will be entered in a raffle! Light refreshments and drinks provided.

28 -- Fish Mosquito Lagoon

  • 10:00am -- Canaveral National Seashore. Eddy Creek Dock.
  • Join a ranger and experience fishing the waters of Mosquito Lagoon.
  • We have a few rods; feel free to bring your own.
