May -- North Area Summer Recreation Program Registration Starts April 30
- Summer activities for children entering first grade through completion of ninth grade.
- Offered by Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department's North Area.
- Available Monday through Friday starting June 4 and continuing through August 15.
- There are also specialized camps and programs for ages ranging from kindergarten to ninth grade, and aquatic programs for all ages.
May -- Military Appreciation Month - City of Titusville
- National Military Appreciation Month (May 2008) includes Loyalty Day (1st), VE Day(8th), Military Spouse Appreciation Day (9th), Armed Forces Day (17th), and Memorial Day (26th).
- The City will place a yellow bow at the residences of active military.
May - July -- "Nature Through The Lens" Photography Exhibit
- Nature photographers, Thomas Dunkerton, Joel Reynolds and Bob Paty will exhibit their photographs at the Merritt Island NWR Visitor Center.
- The Refuge Visitor Center is open on the weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm and on Saturday, from 9 am to 5 pm.

- Arsenic and Old Lace, a classic comedy by Joseph Kesselring, has been a favorite of audiences since its opening in 1941.
- Based on the plot of two charming elderly ladies who simply wish to help lonely, old gentlemen move joyously from this world to the next.

- 10:00am - 11:15am -- American Police Hall of Fame & Museum. Route 405, 1/4 mile east of U.S. Rout 1.
- A special mixed honor guard along with featured soloists, 21 gun salute and Taps will also be provided in the service.
- More than 200 police family survivors from all across the nation who are coming into our area to remember and honor their lost loved ones.

15 -- Beginning Bird Watching Tour

- Take a driving tour of the Refuge with a trained U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service volunteer to learn how to identify the many birds that frequent the refuge.
15 -- Bones and Bodies: How Skeletons Unlock the Past

- Discovery OV-105
- Mission: STS-124 - 26th International Space Station Flight, the second of three flights to launch
components of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's Kibo laboratory. The shuttle also will deliver the lab's robotic arm system that will support operations outside of Kibo.

- Crew: Mark Kelly will command the seven-member crew of STS-124, which includes Pilot Ken Ham, Mission Specialists Karen Nyberg, Ron Garan Jr., Mike Fossum, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Akihiko Hoshide and Greg Chamitoff. Chamitoff will replace Expedition 16/17 Flight Engineer Garrett Reisman and remain aboard the station as a member of the Expedition 17 crew. Reisman will return to Earth with the STS-124 crew.
